Have DDS evaluation: It could be there is an infection, but many other things are possible. It may be you just need your bite adjusted. It may be the root is damaged or fractured. Other conditions may also cause discomfort. It could be an adjacent tooth. Your dentist should take an x-ray and evaluate your bite and the crown. It may be something very simple. Good luck.

Call your DDS: Post operative awareness does occur occasionally however it is difficult for a patient to determine if what they are feeling is normal or abnormal. It would be in your best interest for you to revisit the dentist that treated the root canal so that they can evaluate your current condition.If the root canal is ok your awareness may be related to the crown. Best to see your dentist for the answer.
