A member asked:

I was diagnosed to have a thyroid nodule and told to do an ultrasound after 6 months. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To be safe: The nodule is believed to have benign characteristics that do not require biopsy now. To be safe, and to ensure the nodule is not growing, a followup ultrasound is advised. This is very common and good advice.
