Unrelated events: Taking levothyroxine enables you to have normal thyroid function, but may have no effect on development of thyroid nodules. You need to get an ultrasound, and possibly an i-125 scan and uptake. Cjglueck md.

Relax: Multiple thyroid nodules are much less likely to represent cancer than a single nodule. It's good that you're getting it checked out though.

Very common : Thyroid nodules are very common. They are more common in people with an under active thyroid. An ultrasound will better characterize the nodules and will help determine if any require a biopsy. Most nodules are benign.
