Depends: You are young to get diverticulitis. Have you had a diagnosis with colonoscopy or other test? Diverticulitis is an infection that needs treatment with antibiotics & can be a serious infection. Diverticulosis is having small pouches on the colon and is treated with high fiber diet, fruits & vegetables, add metamucil.
