Asap: Nourishment is important! your dentist should have given you written and\or oral instructions. Follow them. Having said that, one can generally have something to eat as soon as the numbness is gone. Wanting to eat, depends upon how difficult the extraction and how sore you are. Start with soft foods and build up to a normal diet as conditions warrant. Call your dentist if any questions.

A good "rule" to : Follow for the first week - anything that you can very easily separate with a fork only, you can eat. This opens the door to a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods.
