48-72 hours: Wisdom teeth extraction limits your diet the most during the first 48 hours after surgery. After the first couple of days, you can begin to eat solid food. Take care.

Ask The Tooth Fairy: Generally, a day or two after the extraction you can start to chow down, but chew on the opposite side for a while. Some persons can start the next day, but I'd keep it soft and bland for a day or two and rinse thoroughly after eating. Any increasing pain or bleeding warrants a call to your dentist. And don't worry, you won't be less wise for losing that tooth, just less solvent.
