It will not.: There are back conditions, such as spondylolisthesis that can be problematic, but for regular DJD of the lumbar discs, it will not reduce disc height more! who gave you that impression? They are incorrect!

Worsen: Could it worsen the pain? Yes, that is possible. Could it decrease the intervertebral (disc)space, i doubt it.
