A member asked:

Is it safe for diabetic 2 to keep fasting for 14 hours a day for one month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Will discourage it: In diabetes whether type i or type 2 , by being on fasting you are putting your strain on the blood sugar control by the pancreas as well as by the peripheral tissues . Prolonged fating deranges the blood sugar control mechanism , with pancreas and peripheral tissues getting deranged signals , puts under risk of erratic sugar control .Even though you may be fasting still your sugar may run high
