Yes: Teeth are not suppose to hurt. If they do then something is going wrong. You need to have a dentist discover what is going wrong before it gets too far to save.

Yes: If you have a toothache, that means there is something wrong. Most likely there is an infection in your tooth. Sometimes it can be constant, but sometimes it can be intermittent. In any case, you need to have it examined.
