Interesting question: How a baby develops is determined not just by genetic blueprint, but also environment inside the womb -- and outside it later. Pre-term birth and low birth weight are the most often seen results of maternal stress in pregnancy. In stressed moms (esp in 1st trimester), placentas make more corticotropin-releasing hormone that regulates length of pregnancy & fetal maturation. Relaxation needed.
