2-6 months: Signs of avn can occur as early as 6 weeks or as late as 4 months after a talus fracture on a plain ankle xray. Mri studies and bone scans can show signs of injury to the circulation much earlier.

3 months post injury: Generally avn can occur at 3 months post-injury later out for talar fractures. However, for talar neck fractures, it is more concerning for displaced fractures. If your fracture is nondisplaced, you are at less risk.
