It may be: Depending on your weight, your physical activity, your rehab potential post surgery, when you had the surgery, your compliance with post op instructions, etc, etc. Ask the Surgeon if you are concerned and a post op visit would never hurt. Best wishes to you.

Yes: Swelling with such a serious fracture can easily last for 6 months, although some patients will experience mild swelling indefinitely.
