Follow post op: Instructions. I would imagine the surgeon performing your orif would of discussed this possibility with you. Make sure you don't walk on the foot earlier than ou are supposed to etc. If your a smoker make sure you don't smoke.

Rest: Allow the surgically repaired bone to heal requires rest. Too much swelling and movement may disturb healing and can add stress to the blood supply to the talus. A bone stimulator can speed up bone healing as well.
