Problem is Now: A broken open tooth is already in problem. You may now have an abscess even without having pain. The infection of the abscess will not pain you as long as it is draining. Once it cannot drain, then it swells and hurts. Infection is nothing to play around with since infections always enter the blood stream and goes everywhere in the body the blood stream goes. You need treatment now.

Possibly: Why chance either other health problems if you already have a problem with a broken tooth? You may simply need a filling or crown. If you wait, then in addition, probably a root canal. Last how can you chew on a broken tooth? In addition, doing nothing may yield infection, requiring more extensive problems. A small fix now prevents a big fix later!
