"Rot" in your mouth!: You already answered your own question. If something is "rotting' in your mouth, or anywhere in your body, that's a recipe for disaster...That's just common sense, right? Infections can spread and be life-threatening. Swelling within your mouth can make it hard to breathe. If it spreads into your throat, brain, or other facial areas, it could be very serious & even deadly. You must get help asap.

Yes, definitely: I think the tooth is only part of the human body that can be rotting and the human being still be alive. Yes, a decaying wisdom tooth can lead to a dental abscess which is an active infection in your mouth and in the bone which can spread to other parts of your body. This can cause serious illness and even death.
