Bruxism: You may be grinding or clenching your teeth which is called bruxism. This can cause painful teeth with no discernable reason. The treatment is fairly simple and requires wearing a guard or thin mouthpiece at night called a splint. Your dentist can help.

Sensitivity Dx: There are numerous potential causes of generalized tooth sensitivity. Sinus and ear issues are two common health problems that frequently present themselves through tooth sensitivity.

Root senitivity: Tooth sensitivity can be caused by exposed nerve endings on the root surface at the gum line. Scrubbing too hard while brushing or eating acidic foods can irritate these. I have found that sensodyne works well for this.
