Maybe: Impaired glucose tolerance is another risk factor. You seem to be on medications for chol, bp, etc. The best solution would be weight loss, exercise, diet. If that is all maxed, talk to your doctor about metformin or pioglitazone.

Good question.: Generally i would say yes since you have known coronary artery disease and other risk factors. It would of course depend on how bad the ifg / igt is. It is easy to check a hemoglobin a1c. If it were een slightly elevated i would probably start you on metformin 500 to 1000 mg/day and see how well you tolerate. If no downside i would continue.
