A member asked:

I had occipital stroke days ago, my blood sugar is unstable, my heart races and sugars drops very fast when i stand up (cgm is accurate) my glucose is only stable when i'm lying down, how long does it take after a stroke to glucose to back to normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Although elevated or markedly diminished glucose can have an effect on brain anatomy and physiology, a completed stroke has no effect on blood glucose levels. If you have experienced a stroke, you should be under the care of a neurologist, and may well require further testing.
