Numb: In this situation having a numb lip for 6 weeks to 6 months is a normal complication. You should follow up with the surgeon routinely to check on the numbness. If the nerve was pinched the lip will return to normal in time. If it was broken it is important to have it repaired soon. Please follow up with your oral surgeon and let us know how you progress.
