Meh: The pluses and minuses of Atkins were both overblown. The risk of heart disease or kidney disease from them is very little. It isn't the best if you have kidney failure and/or diabetic kidney problems. It's somewhat higher in fat than ideal. Mainly, it's not been shown to be intrinsically helpful for weight loss.
