Can have all: Tourettes- refers to a movement disorder with children having motor tics such as blinking, moving face, body- also may make verbal sounds or words- verbal tic eeg- looks for seizure activity- does not help diagnose tics. However many children with severe autism have other issues including seizures and tics. Important to have a pediatric neurologist as well devolopemental services + school support.

Yes, although it's : Easier to diagnose in children who have average to above-average iq's & mild symptoms of autistic spectrum disorder. Tourette syndrome is defined as having multiple motor tics & at least one vocal tic for at least a year, with no tic-free period that lasted more than 2 months. Seizures are more common in kids with ASD & intellectual disability than in those with ASD & iq's > 70. See below, pls.
