There : There is a possibility that he could have fifths disease - a common, relatively harmless viral infection - most often seen in kids and characterized by red cheeks followed by a lacy rash on the arms, legs and body. Some people will also have fever for a day or two. It typically resolves on its own without treatment. The only time we really worry about this virus is if it infects someone who is pregnant or someone with a chronic blood disease such as sickle cell anemia. I attached a website with more information about fifths disease. If you do not think this is what he has, if he has a chronic blood disease or has spent time with a pregnant woman while ill, or if he is acting sick at all, give his doctor a call. Good luck!

Possibly parvovirus: Parvovirus is a common childhood infection that is also known as fifth's disease. Some children have no noticeable symptoms other than the facial rash, which may spread onto the rest of the body and is lacy appearing. Additional symptoms, which usually precede the rash, include fatigue, headache, sore throat and nausea. It is self limiting. Exposed pregnant women need to report this to doctor.
