A member asked:

What would be the appropriate blood draw for kidney patient on dialysis ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multiple tests: Every patient on dialysis in us receives monthly blood tests-mandated by cms. They will get complete blood count and iron studies to check for anemia, few tests to measure dialysis adequacy, calcium phosphorus levels, albumin, parathyroid hormone level, hepatitis b tests. In addition, tests may be ordered depending on the patient condition. All these lab results are reviewed by nephrologist monthly.
