Filter, toxins: Kidney will receive the blood supply. Dialysis does the work of kidney- removing fluids andtoxins. Blood from the patient flows on one side of the chamber and the dialysate solution which contains the optimal concentration of electrolytes on other side of the chamber. Electrolytes move along the concentration gradient, so toxins which are high in the blood, goes to the dialysate solution.
