Alcoholism: Alcohol affects every organ in the body, except for the kidneys. One can bleed to death from hemorrhages in the esophagus, called esophageal varices. One can also die from liver failure, as well as from alcohol damaging one's bone marrow, making one more prone to infections. An alcoholic may pass out and hit their head and die from a bleed on the brain. Aspiration pneumonia is also common.

Many medical problems that lead to death are also associated with alcoholism. ( heart attack, bleeding, infections) one can actually drink enough to die ( alcohol poisoning) and all the reasons listed above.
