No: Alcohol can produce physical and psychological dependance. While there is no cure of alcoholism, treatments do exist. Psychological counselling and support (aa for example) along with medications can help. Acamprosate can decrease the relapse rate. Disulfiram produces severe nausea when alcohol is ingested and makes drinking unpleasant. Naltrexone can decrease the craving for alcohol.

Start with AA: Asking your question here is a first step. Go to an AA meeting today. Find a meeting near you: http://www.aa.org/ and be surrounded by countless others regaining their lives from alcohol. Great to want to cure your alcoholism, but "one day at a time" is the best mind-set. Find a sponsor. Listen to those at the meetings for courage. Maybe a therapist or doctor can also help. Don't give up!
