Cosult radiologist: It is my understanding that any metal, including hardware, screws, metal mesh, staples, etc. Are all contraindications to an mri. You may want to inquire as to wether a ct scan would be safer, and provide the information regards your current condition that is being investigated.

Probably OK: Any metal strongly anchored into bone should not move, but could make artifacts if close to the area imaged. Mesh is probably ok as well. Please bring specific details (paperwork from the surgeries), if possible, to allow for safety checking before the MRI scan.

Check: Mesh is non magnetic. Nail - depends on size and to ferrous component mri will check x-ray and guide.
