Potentially : Use of acid blockers could help relieve some symptoms of heart burn. If your chest pain is due to the orientation of the stomach in the chest then nothing will help until the mechanical problem gets addressed with surgery. Get a couple of opinions from surgeons who do this surgery routinely to have an idea of whether surgery is warranted.

Acid: Often chest pain associated with hernias can be controlled by reducing gastric acid reflux - this is often done with medications (many are available over the counter) and/or changing habits ie dont eat before bed, avoid spicey foods, alcohol, chocolate etc.
