Let your weight dict: Your weight is good guide. If your weight is normal and stable then keep doing what you normally do. Most people will lose weight on 1200 calories. But if you want to do some regular exercise(which you should do as it is good for your health), then you may need to eat a bit more unless you are overweight.

Depends: What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to gain weight than you need to ear more calories than you burn. On the other hand, if you want to loose weight, than the opposite is true. Figure out you bmi and then go from there.

Varies!: Male vs female. Body size. Child vs adult. And very important: the amount of muscle mass you already have. Someone lean and strong equaling in weight someone obese will burn more calories at rest. For most people it is 1700-2200kcal/day. This does not factor in normal sporting activities!

It's on everage 1800: Energy required for normal function of human body is roughly equal to 1400-2500 cal/day. It depends on many factors including age, gender, level of your activity. Daily tasks that we are usually involved in are not design to burn much calories. The real utilization of reserve energy starts with heart rate going up to resume the task.
