Veg: Some pureed fruits (no seeds) or vegetables might be a good start.

Check it out: From profile, sounds like baby has big tendency to allergy (nut allergy, eczema, runny nose, enough wheezing to need xopenex). Check w/ md to be sure he's not allergic to what he already eats. I always recommend trying all vegetables first (baby food or cooked and pureed) then non-citrus fruits. Try 1 new food every 3 days & watch for reaction. Leave off corn, cow milk, nuts, choking risks.

Small pieces...: At 9 months of age finger foods such as small pieces of soft, mild cheeses, soft toast, plain crackers or wafers, cheerios, etc. Also, although not finger food, mashed potatoes, well-cooked carrots, peas green or wax beans, bananas. Be careful of the size of the piece to avoid choking and supervise the child until you are certain he can eat what you give him without a problem.
