See below: It is safe. But to have true lactose intolerance in infants is very rare. Loose stools are okay, as long as your child is not having diarrhea.

Several types: Most of the major formula makers offer a lactose free cow milk product, and the soy milk formulas are naturally lactose free. Just look at the labels, their marking is quite specific.
