Exercise & meds: Aerobic exercise can be very helpful. Diet has little value. Appropriate meds also can be very beneficial.

Lots of things: Daily dedicated exercise, low impact- even walking counts but it must be in the form of a daily dedicated program. Get proper sleep, at least 7-8 hours. Don't smoke. Try not to eat processed foods-they tend to make you feel worse. Stay off narcotics as they tend to make fibro worse long term.

Low carbs: ? what kind of diet/exercise best for fibromyalgia (FM). Weight normalcy critical so carbs to be avoided. Aspartame is a poison. Stay with whole nutrient-dense foods. Protein important for muscle conditioning which is important to rehabilitate from FM, & exercise (aquatherapy & gentle yoga) important. Walking jounces upper body and increases soft tissue strength in shoulder/cervical regions.

Fibromyalgia: Have a full workup from your general care practitioner to determine if fibromyalgia is the correct diagnosis. If so, pain management, preferably with as few pills as possible is of utmost importance. Here is the website of the American Academy of Pain Management: http://www.aapainmanage.org/

Start very slowly: If you have fibromyalgia, exercise, especially when combined with cognitive behavior therapy, can improve your quality of life and reduce pain. Eating a healthy diet of vegetables, fruits, lean protein, and whole grains may ease your symptoms by helping you lose weight and improve your sleep and pain.
