Possible...: Implant surgeries vary in complexity & it's normal to have some discomfort following the procedure. The bigger concern is not whether you have pain, but whether it's getting worse or better. Note what aggravates or helps your discomfort. At 6 days, you should definitely have seen improvement, and if it's not improving, your provider will want to know. Call or visit him/her & feel better soon!

If plant surgery: If infection is present you run the risk of the implant failing also you should have been on antibiotics before the implant was placed and for at least 10 days the pain may also be coming from pressure on a nerve go back to the doctor who placed the implant and have the area evaluated.

Maybe.: It really depends on what was done. Many times an implant surgery involves grafting of bone or having a gum surgery included. If it was simply placing an implant where a tooth has been missing, pain is minimal and short-lived. If it involved extractions or grafting or gum surgery, the discomfort will last longer. Check with your dentist.

Not necessarily...: If i were you i would visit your surgeon. In case there is something wrong it can be managed quickly. I would not say that what you are experiencing is to be expected. I do not think of it as a normal course. Again, i would have this evaluated to see if there is a problem.

Depends: Is the pain severe? Is the pain resolved with the pain medications prescribed. How many dental implants were placed? Was bone grafting performed? Were any teeth removed? Depending on the extent of the procedure(s), this may be normal. Often, if only 1 dental implant is placed, there is minimal pain after 1 day. Contact the doctor that placed the dental implant for a recommendation.

Yes: You may have what is termed ailing implant. The implant is partially osseointegrated but not fully strong enough for occlusal loading. Moreover, the vertical bone loss may increasing and will lead to failure. Have the implant removed and the pain should be eliminated. After six year of ailing, the removal procedure should be quick and painless.

See your Doctor: You should not be in constant pain 6 days after implant surgery! my patients regularly say that the implant surgery was less traumatic and less painful post-operatively than an extraction! you may have an infection that is not responding to the antibiotic you took!

Possibly: Constant pain is not something that is typical for implant surgery. I would recommend you call your implant surgeon asap. It may be that the bone has not received adequate blood supply around the implant, and it is causing the pain. Sometimes, if the implant is placed too tightly, this can also cause constant pain. Good luck friend. Keep smiling.

See Dentist ASAP: There are a few reasons why you are having pain almost 1 week after implant placement that needs to be evaluated by the dentist who placed them. Your question does not give us enough information such as did you have extractions also, infected teeth or other contributing dental problems.
