Infection: Broken teeth typically have some degree of infection. Gum disease infection or abscess can be low grade smoldering infection that sends the by products down stream into the body. Some recent studies have shown people with gum disease spent on average $1800 more over a 3 year period on medical treatment. So there is an effect on your health and your wallet.

Many ways: Infection is the obvious answer, but if you are not chewing your food properly, it can also affect digestion. If you are not going to restore them, then have them extracted to minimize risk of infection. Dentures will help you chew your food properly.
