What causes my jaw to crack when i open my mouth?

TMJ joint: There is a "cushion" in your TMJ joint that separates the head of the lower jaw from you skull. When this cushion or disc slips out of place between those two , you will here a pop or click. See your dentist to see if treatment is needed or not. Is is painfull? Do you get headaches? Sore facial muscles?
