Bone Infection: You are dealing with two specialists who should reach out to each other to help solve the cause of this infection. If it is from the extracted tooth, then a simple antibiotic should clear things up. If after a course of antibiotics your issues remain, then it's probably a cracked tooth since antibiotics will not fix a cracked tooth. This is a simplified explanation, hard to diagnose sight unseen.
