Foot Pain: The pain you are feeling may be from a stress fracture, fracture of the 5th metatarsal, and or a tendonitis. The fracture will hurt more consistently with walking or weight bearing. This can be a difficult fracture to fix, and if it does not heal properly, could cause long-term pain with walking. See your physician for x-rays and exam to help determine the best course for treatment.

With shooting pain : It could be a nerve entrapment. Was there any injury? Possible fracture too. Get checked to be safe.
