Better early: It never hurts to have your child checked and for you to learn care instructions. Don't go past 1st b'day without 1'st ck-up. Eruption of 1st tooth is ideal time for 1st appt. Also note, 1st orthodontic ck-up age 7. Enjoy all of the stages of your child's growth and development.

Pediatrics recommend: At one year old or with eruption of 1st tooth. You will discuss hygiene for you child, evaluate for any easily noticed developmental or growth problems, and let him/her have a happy visit and get a prize. Very easy and fun when done right.

By 1st birthday: The best time for your child's first dental checkup is at their first tooth or first birthday. Dentistry is a preventive profession and early care can mean a lifetime of health.
