Depends: It depends on how much tumor was left behind, what kind/grade of tumor was there, and how well your mother has recovered. Sometimes the most effective cancer therapy is go back and remove the rest. Other times, it may be possible to effectively treat with chemotherapy and/or radiation instead of reoperating. Check with your surgeon.
