How often?: Depending on how often these occur it may be worthwhile to try suppressive therapy with an anti-viral like gancyclovir.

See your MD: Cold sores are of viral origin. It would be best to have a definitive diagnosis that your condition is "herpes labials" if that is your condition there are medications that can be used to control the condition. There is no reason to allow this to continuously erupt. Please contact your md for an evaluation and treatment.

Lip & chin sores: See your physician. These may be a response to any number of systemic infections or skin infection, especially if they occur on your chin or face.
