May need treatment: It sounds like an infected hair follicle. If it doesn't get better in 24 hours you may need an antibiotic . In the meantime use warm soaks and topical neosporin.

Wash the area and: Apply triple antibiotic twice a day until it clears. If it persists, see your doctor.
