Which medicine to take for diverticulitis is most effective?

For acute: Attacks, broad spectrum antibiotics. Once the acute episode subsides, doctors generally recommend a high fiber diet in order to relax muscles that caused the diverticula in the first place. It is also important to make sure that the area of presumed diverticulitis does not contain cancer.

Remember: That management of acute diverticulitis may require medications that address nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain and infection. So there are many medications effective in treating diverticulitis and the associated symptoms. If you are wondering about antibiotics, common ones used are ciprofloxacin combined with metronizadole(or clindamycin), Augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) Unasyn, Zosyn, or Timentin.
