Depends: on many factors as diverticulitis can be very minor and treated as an outpatient with diet modification, pain medications and oral antibiotics to as severe as life-threatening requiring surgery and life-support. In general, most persons get significantly better after several days of treatment initiation but may take several weeks till they feel close to normal.
