Time: Antibiotics ARE the treatment of choice. She will improve but it may take a few days for them to work. The abdominal cramps are painful but in a few days their duration and severity will lessen. If she does not improve SE the MD ASAP!

If she is having: pain, trial of ibuprofen or naproxen otc might help. If she continues to have pain, she should go back to ER because she might need to be on IV antibiotics.
