Yes, but may not gel: Diverticulitis indicates an infection. Usually requires antibiotics. Senokot, (senna) may help reduce the effects of diverticulosis, this is an uninfected condition.

Not the best: Would avoid sennakot and try either fiber or miralax (polyethylene glycol). Better choices to improve bowel regularity in the face of diverticulosis.
