Hard to say: There are many types of cancers, which can behave very differently. I do not know of a definite cure on the horizon anytime soon. That is not to say that it can't happen. There is always research being done in different areas, by different people, all over the world and all the time. It is impossible for any doctor to be aware of all of it. The world is big. I'd like to hope one day we will.
