Depends: A lump may be a sign of certain types of cancer, but as you can imagine, may internal cancers never form a lump that you can reasonably feel. Symptoms may include weight loss, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, blood in stools, coughing up blood, etc. It really depends on what type of cancer we're dealing with.
