Rare: The majority of esophageal Ca's are in the cardioesophageal junction where stomach meets esophagus. This tumor is induced by h. pylori. This organism induces ulcers in mucosa which is repaired by influx of bone marrow stem cells. The helicobacter toxin then converts the stem cells to the malignant form which grows as a cancer.
