Blood clot to lung: Blood clots in the leg are from venous stasis in the venous system - a little different than what causes a cva, which can be bleeding or a thrombus in the arterial system. Both may be treated with anticoagulation.

Rarely: Leg blood clots are in the veins. If the clot breaks loose it usually goes to the lungs, which is called pulmonary embolism. If you have a hole in your heart, such as an atrial septal defect or patent foramen ovale, the clot can cross into the arterial system and go to brain and cause a stroke.
