Canker sores: Canker sores heal spontaneously in 5-7 days. Your dentist may be able to help heal them faster. Certain medications can be applied to cauterize the ulcer to eliminate the pain. A laser treatment can also be used to cauterize the ulcer.

Canker sores: Canker sores are the most common oral lesions. Individual ulcers typically last 1-2 weeks. The condition is idiopathic (cause is not known) recurrent aphthous ulcers is usually self-limiting and no treatment is required. If concerned, see your dentist after 10 days.
